OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for assisting and overseeing the deliveries of all packages to the appropriate departments. Works closely with the Mechanics, Welders, Purchasing Agent and Shop Manager as needed. This includes conducting detailed inspections, using tools and equipment in a safe and professional manner, while maintaining a clean, efficient and safe work area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for general maintenance such as sweeping, mopping and emptying trash cans.
- Responsible for efficiently unloading trucks and delivering material to specific locations within the Gila River Farms.
- Machines various parts from manual equipment with guidance from set-up crew.
- Complies with safety regulations and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
- Operation and maintenance of tools, parts and equipment used in automotive shops.
Ability to:
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Strong sense of ownership and work ethic.
- Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards
- Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing production priorities.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, verbal and diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to read and write legibly.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record
- Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely.
- Able to work outside in hot and cold weather.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Have own transportation and come to work on a timely manner.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely.
- Must possess a Valid Driver’s License and provide a 39-month Department of Motor Vehicle record.
- Must agree to maintain a Drug-Free Workplace as a condition of employment with Gila River Farms.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Three to five years of skilled experience maintenance and repair of automotive and mechanical equipment. Other combinations of experience and education that meet in minimum requirements may be substituted.
