OVERVIEW:
This position is located on the Gila River Farms and requires you to work 7 days a week 12 hours a day or as needed due to business needs
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Drive and control farm equipment to till the soil and prepare the fields for various planting season’s
- Cultivate and harvest crops.
- Ability to do safety and maintenance checks on tractors and farm equipment when needed.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Ability to:
- Skills to operate farm equipment to level and prepare fields for planting
- Ability to drive tractors with bin trailer attached
- Ability to operate an A.T.V. or Gator
- Work various shifts as needed 7 days a week.
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
Must be able to sit continuously on farm equipment for 12 hours at a time. Physical demands include walking, standing, bending, sitting, carrying and lifting. Must be able to continuously lift 50 pounds or more.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to work outside under varied weather conditions and on uneven surfaces. Exposure to extreme heat and wet and/or humid environment. Exposure to cold weather, wind, dust, and agricultural chemicals.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely.
